ChamberWest Leaders Communication

Welcome to September!  This year continues to move along quickly even as we work through continuous changes due to COVID.   We’ve received news that the Salt Lake Region Small Business Development Center has created a COVID-19 Business Recovery Assistance Team (BRAT) with three new advisors to specifically provide assistance to businesses that have been damaged by this crisis.  They are committed to helping as many struggling businesses as possible.  Go to https://utahsbdc.org/ and click on “Request Service” or for questions, contact  Chistine.Rice@SLCC.edu or 801-957-5441.
Salt Lake Community College has announced they have received CARES funding to cover the cost of 27 courses/programs. Students need to enroll before the end of November and can complete the training/education over time as needed.  This is a great tool to help people get back to work and to find employees for careers that are in high demand for local businesses.  The list of eligible programs/courses and information on how to apply, register, and receive financial support are available at:  https://www.slcc.edu/allin/.

The State programs being administered by GOED are still on hold as changes made during the August special session are being implemented.  For continually updated information, please visit: https://business.utah.gov/coronavirus/
