With 2021 just around the corner, it’s time to call out for nominations to those interested in serving on the ChamberWest Board of Directors.  The Board of Directors is our policy board and is responsible for managing and directing the Chamber’s affairs, controlling its property, overseeing finances, and carrying out the Chamber’s policies.  The deadline to submit nominations is September 22nd with nominations then forwarded to the Nominations Committee for review and consideration.  The nomination form is available at:  https://chambermaster.blob.core.windows.net/userfiles/UserFiles/chambers/3110/CMS/2020-Board-Nomination-Form.pdf.

As a reminder, GOED is administering several State COVID-19 Assistance Program.  To access applications, you will need to set up a user name and password first by visiting: https://utahgoed.secure.force.com/goed/Grant__PtlLogin.  You will need your EIN and Utah Business Entity #  and a Utah.gov link is provided to access this information if needed. 

Opening again this morning with access of up to $150,000, the $55 million Utah COVID-19 Impacted Businesses Grant Program (Shop in Utah) is for businesses negatively impacted by this pandemic and interested in creating a discount program.  You must give a discount, coupon, or other offer with an estimated value to their customers of at least 50% of the grant amount to qualify for the program. If you received funds during round one, you can apply for additional grant money as long as the total amount does not exceed $150,000. If you have experienced at least a 30% loss of gross monthly revenue after March 1st,  the Utah COVID-19 Commercial Rental Assistance Program (ComRent) will be of interest.  Information is available at: https://business.utah.gov/utah-covid-19-commercial-rental-assistance-program/ .  The program, with approx. $15 million available, has expanded to include up to three months of a business lease or mortgage amount.   
  
Utah COVID-19 Displaced Worker Grant Program (Learn & Work in Utah is a great program to help people get back to work and to find employees for careers that are in high demand for local businesses.  With this funding, Salt Lake Community College is covering the cost of 27 courses/programs.  Students need to enroll before the end of November and can complete the training/education over time as needed.  The list of eligible programs/courses and information on how to apply, register, and receive financial support are available at:  https://www.slcc.edu/allin/.

Don’t forget that the Salt Lake County Small Business Impact Grant (SBIG) closes on Friday, September 18th at 5:00 pm.  This grant program offers up to $35,000 for small businesses located in Salt Lake County who have significantly been impacted by COVID.  You can learn more about the grant program and the eligibility criteria at: https://slco.org/covid-19/economy/grants/?ref=frontSlider .
