ChamberWest Weekly Communication

Your chamber of commerce, your voice.

ChamberWest Chamber of Commerce continues to proudly offer many strong programs focused on delivering on our mission of strengthening and promoting the shared interests of our business community.   We are a Catalyst for business growth, a Convener of leaders and influencers, and a Champion for a stronger community.

Without missing a beat, the Board of Directors (our policy board) and the Board of Governors (our advisory/strategic planning board), chaired by Jordan Larson with Varex Imaging, have continued to meet via Zoom as business continues and the business of the chamber remains critically important as we work to serve our members.

Our Leadership Institute program has been in existence since 1986 and continues as a signature leadership development program for our members, our chamber, and our community.  The program, led by Ryan D. Nelson with Employers Council, is designed to challenge and engage leaders in professional and personal growth while inspiring an entrepreneurial spirit in building a better community.

The Legislative Affairs Committee, led by Bryan Scott with City Journals, has been meeting monthly as normal albeit through Zoom as policy issues impacting our community continue and there is work to do as we prepare for the 2021 Legislative Session.  This chamber committee works diligently as strong and engaged advocates for our businesses and policies impacting business.

We also have a strong Women in Business Program, monthly events, and specialty programs that will be featured in the next communication.

In an effort to keep our economy going, we continue to partner with the Salt Lake Chamber and the Utah Department of Health, for the Stay Safe to Stay Open campaign. The campaign's focus is to inform and support businesses in understanding and following safety guidance from the Utah Department of Health.

The centerpiece of the campaign is to take a SAFETY PLEDGE as a business as a way to keep our economy moving forward.  Taking the pledge demonstrates to employees and customers your commitment to follow the safety guidance and helps to expand consumer confidence.

To take the “Stay Safe to Stay Open” pledge:

1. Go to stayopenutah.com and take the pledge to follow the guidelines above.
2. Fill out the short form so customers can find your business in the pledge database.
3. Receive an email confirmation with instructions on how to obtain signage demonstrating your company has taken the pledge.  We can also deliver signage to your business if preferred.

We are proud to serve as the business voice in West Valley City, Taylorsville, and West Jordan.  Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or if we can be of service.  Hope you all have a productive week!  Be positive, find and embrace the good, and stay safe.  Thanks much!
