The 2023 Hall of Fame Award is being presented to Jon Butterfield, previously with Holy Cross Hospital and prior to that Jordan Valley Medical Center.

 

Jon Butterfield, RN, BSN, MBA, is an accomplished healthcare executive with an impressive 34-year career primarily devoted to serving the communities on the west side.   For the past half-decade, Butterfield has held the critical position of Chief Executive Officer at Holy Cross Hospitals – Jordan Valley and Jordan Valley West and prior to that Chief Executive Officer at Jordan Valley Medical Center, where he made an enduring impact on the healthcare landscape.  Throughout his tenure, Butterfield’s leadership played a pivotal role in shaping numerous healthcare services that significantly enhanced the safety and well-being of our communities.

His visionary leadership and strategic prowess propelled his hospitals to unprecedented heights, firmly establishing them as premier healthcare institutions.  Under his guidance, these hospitals experienced growth, garnering recognition for their unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and consistently earning top-notch ratings for quality and patient safety.

 

Jon's influence has extended far beyond the realm of healthcare as he played a crucial role in ChamberWest’s evolution and expansion journey. Serving in key roles on the board of directors, including Vice Chair, Chair, and Past Chair, Jon's involvement was pivotal during a crucial phase in ChamberWest's history. Along with Spencer Ferguson his contributions paved the way for a new trajectory marked by robust leadership and a visionary approach to its future.

 

A staunch advocate for chamber programs and delivering tangible value to its members, Jon’s dedication and passion were evident not only in his roles on the Board of Directors but also in his service on the Board of Governors, Legislative Affairs Committee, and various other leadership committees. His unwavering commitment to promoting chamber engagement and supporting local businesses remains a cornerstone of his professional ethos.

 

Jon’s journey began as a registered nurse, providing hands on clinical care in diverse settings such as the intensive care unit, newborn intensive care unit, emergency department, home health, and correctional healthcare. This rich clinical foundation uniquely equipped him to assume the mantle of a healthcare executive. His understanding of hospital clinical processes enabled him to foresee the implications of administrative decisions on caregivers and their subsequent impact on care quality and patient safety- both of which are paramount concerns.

 

Jon Butterfield’s recognition with the ChamberWest Hall of Fame Award not only celebrates successional achievements in the healthcare sector but also acknowledges his transformative contribution to ChamberWest’s growth and his unwavering commitment to championing community engagement and local businesses.
