Legislative Affairs Committee
The job…Business Advocacy - Moving our Economy Forward
The Legislative Affairs Committee meets monthly April – December to “deep dive” into issues important to our four communities. Subcommittees will identify and create a white paper around important issues such as Air Quality, Economic Development, Education, Healthcare, Small Business Development, Utilities and Water Development. During January – March while the legislators are in session, the committee will review proposed legislation and take positions. The committee will then meet with legislators weekly to share our insight and positions and to provide a forum for legislators to communicate to business and civic leaders of bills in process. The current plan is to also continue participation with the South Valley Chambers Coalition as part of the Western Growth Coalition.
The Legislative Affairs Committee will meet on the first Thursday of every month in the Conference Room of Jordan Valley Medical Center at 7:30 am where a complimentary breakfast will be provided for chamber members.
Cost to Join this Committee: $275 (includes 20+ breakfasts)
