CW Leadership Communication: Friday Conference Highlights - Advertising Grant - Governor's Executive Order

With the current business climate and the continuing uncertainty and extreme circumstances, attending the ChamberWest Fall Business Conference is now even more important than ever as you lead your organization through the next several months and into 2021.  As an organized and structured business event, the conference will take place on Friday, November 13th at the Viridian Event Center in West Jordan.  The early bird rate has been extended until tomorrow and there are options to attend either in-person or virtually.  Feel confident that we have completed the required Event Safety Plan and remain committed to following the Governor’s executive order and health department regulations.

What a great way to safely connect with colleagues and friends again while gaining critical information!  Join us to hear from Mayor Dirk Burton, City of West Jordan, Mayor Kristie Overson, City of Taylorsville, and Mayor Ron Bigelow, West Valley City.  Our two powerful keynote topics and presenters include:

“Thriving in the Extreme”
Major General Jefferson Burton, U.S. Army, Retired
Former Adjutant General, Utah National Guard
We live in extreme times. From political and cultural upheaval, to a worldwide pandemic, we are bombarded with difficult choices. As a nation, we seem more divided and detached than any time in recent memory. Our opinions are polarized, and we lack the civility to logically discuss our differences without resorting to name calling and insults. Some are filled with despair and fear for the future, while others resort to anger and destructive behavior to vent their feelings of rage. I believe that with a simple change to our way of thinking, that we can survive and thrive in the extreme.

“Adjusting to Uncertainty”
Robert Spendlove
Senior Vice President, Economic and Public Policy Officer, Zions Bank
State Representative, House District 49
The past year has been historic for the US and Utah economies. What began as a strong 2020 reversed dramatically with the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting national quarantines and shutdowns. This "black swan" event caused economic conditions to deteriorate to an extent never seen before.
While the Utah and national economic conditions are improving, we're not yet through the difficult times. Robert will provide a review and perspective of the economic environment we're experiencing. And with 2021 quickly approaching, he will give some insight into the challenges and opportunities we face.

There are still seats available in-person or you can sign up to attend virtually.    Registration is open and available at https://chamberwest.com/events/details/annual-fall-business-conference-1150 . Many thanks to America First Credit Union for their support as our Presenting Sponsor for this year’s conference along with our other generous conference sponsors who are listed on the event registration page!

There are a limited number of $3,000 CW Small Business Advertising Grants still available but you will need to act quickly.  Eligible businesses receiving these grants will need to have paid for the advertising between July 1 -  November 23, 2020, a short turnaround time due to restrictions given by Salt Lake County based on CARES Act funding requirements.
